Facilities

The St Giles’ Centre values its close relationship with the St Giles’ Parish Church, which offers a rich ‘living resource’ for teaching and learning in RE/RVE and making cross-curricular connections, as well as meeting/seminar spaces within the church itself. In addition, the St Giles’ Centre has meeting/seminar space and Resources Room situated in College House, which is in the grounds of the St Giles’ Parish Church.

The St Giles’ Centre uses these spaces when hosting face-to-face training events and meetings.

Depending on availability, schools in Wrexham are able to have FREE use of these facilities for ‘away days’, ‘study days’, meetings, visits and other activities. If required, catering can be provided by the St Giles’ Parish Church (this needs to be pre-booked and costs apply).

The Resources Room

The St Giles’ Centre Resources Room has an extensive collection of resources for RE/RVE and statutory collective worship. Further information about these resources as well as visiting and borrowing arrangements are found on our page for the Resources Room.

Learning outside the classroom

The St Giles’ Parish Church and churchyard offer many opportunities for learning outside the classroom. Set within the heart of Wrexham, this medieval church is often described as one of the seven ‘wonders of Wales’, and has been a place of Christian worship for 800 years or more.

Currently, the St Giles’ Centre is working with the St Giles’ Parish Church to develop a bank of electronic resources that can be used to explore the church as a living resource, contributing to learners’ appreciation of cynefin through RE/RVE and the Humanities, as well as the wider curriculum.

Further information about visiting St Giles’ Parish Church and churchyard is available on the website of the St Giles’ Parish Church.
